Chief Engineer

Develop engineering strategy across the business and oversee capital expenditure engineering projects from concept to commissioning including developing project scopes, technical specifications, timelines, budgets, resource plans and approvals. Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions to optimise processing and project outcomes within area of expertise. Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineers, contractors, consultants and internal employees to achieve project outcomes. Ensure works are compliant with technical standards, safety regulations, local government requirements and industry best practice. Monitor progress of projects and adjust plans to meet deadlines, cost and quality requirements and communicate all changes clearly. In conjunction with the Senior Project Engineer, review and approve engineering drawings, specifications and related documentation. Monitor processing, safety and quality outcomes and provide recommendations to improve results. Measure and report on the technical performance of equipment as it relates to volume and quality of production and ensure equipment is functioning to specification. Collaborate with key stakeholders to prepare and present business cases, project updates, reports and technical briefings to the Board. Provide specialist input to the development, integration, and ongoing management of operational controls to ensure Good Manufacturing Process is maintained.

Tertiary qualifications in an engineering discipline with a civil, hydraulics, electrical or mechanical background is required. Post graduate qualification desirable. Significant engineering strategy and execution experience in a manufacturing, processing or related industrial sector. Experience in scoping and delivering engineering projects within an operational environment. A pro-active attitude with the ability to offer guidance and resolve complex technical issues. Experience in the design and build of engineering projects. Excellent people management and communication skills. Excellent problem solving, investigative and reporting skills. Resilience and perseverance to handle change and pressure well. Up to date with new research and technologies and being exposed to innovation and automation practices. Experience in preparing Board reports and/or capex project business cases for executive decision making. Proficiency in CAD software, project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera), and engineering analysis platforms.
