Customs & Trade Compliance Manager

Description • Develop strategies and solutions to ensure customs compliance and process optimization in Mainland China • Work with the sub‑regional customs team to identify and analyze local and global customs‑related risks, and support the implementation of mitigation measures • Support the implementation of customs regulations and monitor corrective actions resulting from internal/external reviews and customs audits • Manage customs brokers and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures • Establish, implement, and monitor internal guidelines and related IT system processes • Deliver cross‑functional training to relevant stakeholders • Strengthen internal collaboration to ensure effective trade compliance execution Qualification • Bachelor’s degree in international business, supply chain, law, or a related field • Proven experience in customs operations, ideally within a matrix organization • Strong knowledge of China import/export regulations, customs laws, and trade compliance requirements • Excellent teamwork, decisiveness, assertiveness, and structured analytical thinking • Strong communication and organizational skills • International experience in project management and organizational development, with strong negotiation and presentation abilities • Experience working with government authorities, consulting firms, multinational corporations, or industry associations • Familiarity with customs systems and ERP platforms, including requirements definition, testing, and rollout • Strong networking skills and willingness to travel up to 15%
