Head of Data

We are looking for a seasoned and forward-thinking Head of Data to spearhead our data vision, architecture, and analytics practice. This role will be central to shaping and scaling the data function that fuels business decisions, product innovation, and operational excellence. You will lead a diverse team of engineers, scientists, and analysts, serving as a trusted partner to senior leaders across the organization. Key Responsibilities: · Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with the company's business goals. · Champion a data-driven culture across the organization and evangelize the value of data and AI. · Define and oversee the data roadmap, prioritizing initiatives with the highest business impact. · Lead the design, implementation, and evolution of a scalable, secure, and reliable data platform (cloud or on-premise). · Ensure robust data governance, quality, security, and compliance with global regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). · Oversee the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT pipelines, data warehousing, and real-time data processing systems. · Drive the development and deployment of machine learning models and AI solutions to solve business challenges (e.g., personalization, forecasting, optimization). · Establish frameworks for model lifecycle management, monitoring, and retraining. · Enable self-service analytics and BI capabilities for business teams through tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker. · Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data professionals. · Foster an environment of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. · Manage talent development, performance, and career growth within the data organization. · Collaborate closely with executive leadership and department heads (Marketing, Sales, Product, Operations, Finance) to identify data opportunities and deliver actionable insights. · Translate business needs into technical requirements and data solutions. · Communicate data insights and value proposition effectively to non-technical stakeholders. · Stay ahead of emerging trends in data technologies, AI/ML, and industry best practices. · Evaluate and adopt new tools, frameworks, and methodologies to keep the data stack modern and effective. Qualifications & Experience: · Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. · 10+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or data science, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. · Proven track record of building and scaling data teams and platforms in a fast-paced environment. · Deep expertise in modern data technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Spark, Kafka, Airflow) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure). · Strong background in machine learning, statistical modeling, and AI applications; familiarity with GenAI and LLMs is a plus. · Experience in implementing data governance, security, and compliance programs. · Strong business acumen, with experience in driving measurable business outcomes through data initiatives. · Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. · Industry experience in retail, e-commerce, consumer goods, or digital services is highly desirable. · Proficiency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
