Power BI Manager/Senior Manager

The Power BI Manager is responsible for leading the design, development, governance, and optimization of enterprise wide Power BI solutions. This role oversees a team of BI developers/analysts and partners closely with business stakeholders to deliver high quality dashboards, data models, and analytics that support strategic decision making across the organization. Key Responsibilities • Power BI Strategy & Governance Define and maintain the enterprise Power BI strategy, governance standards, data modeling guidelines, and best practices for report development and publishing. • Team Leadership Lead and mentor a team of BI developers and analysts; ensure proper workload allocation, skill development, and high quality delivery. • Dashboard & Data Model Development Oversee the design and development of scalable Power BI dashboards, semantic models, DAX calculations, and data transformations. • Data Integration & Architecture Collaborate with Data Engineering and IT teams to ensure reliable data pipelines, optimized data sources, and alignment with enterprise data architecture. • Stakeholder Collaboration Work closely with business units to understand reporting needs, translate requirements into BI solutions, and ensure high user adoption. • Performance Optimization Monitor and optimize Power BI performance, capacity usage, gateway operations, and workspace management. • Security & Compliance Implement row level security, access controls, data privacy standards, and compliance with corporate governance policies. • Training & Enablement Drive Power BI self service adoption through training, documentation, and user community development. • Project & Portfolio Management Manage BI project timelines, priorities, and delivery quality; ensure alignment with business goals and IT strategy. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field. • 8+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Data Engineering. • 5+ years of hands on experience with Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and workspace administration. • Experience leading BI teams or managing BI projects in a corporate environment. • Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and SQL. • Familiarity with Azure data ecosystem (e.g., Azure SQL, Data Lake, Synapse) is preferred. • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross functional stakeholders. • Strong analytical mindset with a focus on data quality, performance, and user experience. Preferred Skills • Experience with enterprise BI governance frameworks. • Knowledge of Python or R for advanced analytics. • Experience with Power BI Premium, Fabric, or large scale BI deployments. • Project management or Agile delivery experience.
