Purpose of the Position
The Product Manager China & Asia is responsible for the systematic monitoring and analysis of the Chinese market as well as selected Asian markets. The objective is to derive concrete product requirements and development initiatives from market, competitor, and customer insights, and to implement these in close collaboration with product and development teams in Germany.
This role serves as a key interface between regional market requirements and the global product strategy.

Key Technology Focus Areas
IO-Link and IO-Link Safety
Fieldbus systems in general (EtherCAT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and their safety-related derivatives, as well as CAN, CANopen, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, MQTT)
Controllers and displays for mobile working machines
Mobile IoT (future focus)
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
Market and Competitor Intelligence
Continuous analysis of the Chinese and Asian markets with regard to customer needs, market trends, regulatory frameworks, and technological developments
Systematic monitoring of competitors, local innovations, and substitute products
Establishment and maintenance of a relevant market and network access (customers, partners, associations, trade fairs)
Evaluation of Local Product Requirements
Translation of market and customer requirements into clear, structured product requirements and business cases
Identification of product gaps, adaptation needs, and new development potential for the Asian market
Prioritization of product initiatives considering strategic, economic, and technical criteria
Collaboration with Germany
Close and regular coordination with product management, development, sales, and strategy teams in Germany
Clear communication of regional requirements, market specifics, and customer feedback to central teams
Support of the global product roadmap through regional insights and recommendations
Product Development Support
Accompanying product development projects from concept phase to market launch for the Asian market
Ensuring market readiness (e.g. functionality, usability, standards, local requirements)
Support of pilot projects, testing, and customer validations in the region
Strategic Support
Contribution to the further development of the Asia strategy from a product perspective
Preparation of decision-making documents, presentations, and management reports
Support of sales and marketing in product launches and market positioning
Qualifications and Requirements
Professional Background
Completed degree in business administration, engineering, technology, or a comparable field
Several years of experience in product management, ideally in international or Asian markets
Solid understanding of market analysis, product concepts, and product development processes
Methodological Skills
Structured and analytical working style with strong implementation focus
Experience in defining product requirements, business cases, and roadmaps
Confident working with interdisciplinary and international teams
Personal Competencies
Experience in working in a international environment
Excellent communication and facilitation skills
High level of initiative, assertiveness, and strategic thinking
Languages
Chinese (Native Level)
Very good command of English, both written and spoken
German language skills are an advantage
Additional Asian languages are a plus
