Position Overview
The Production Manager is responsible for leading all manufacturing operations within the assigned production area to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality output. This role oversees daily production activities, drives operational excellence, and ensures that manufacturing processes—especially heat treatment, CNC machining, sintering, quenching and related metallurgical processes—meet the technical and quality requirements of the automotive industry.
The position requires strong leadership, fluent English communication, and experience working in a European or North American manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production leadership — Manage daily shop‑floor operations, ensuring stable output, adherence to production schedules, and alignment with customer delivery requirements.
Process management — Oversee critical manufacturing processes including heat treatment, CNC machining, sintering, quenching, deburring, and assembly to ensure process capability and repeatability.
Quality compliance — Ensure all production activities comply with automotive quality standards (IATF16949, ISO9001) and internal procedures.
Performance management — Monitor KPIs such as OEE, scrap rate, labor efficiency, machine utilization, and delivery adherence; implement corrective actions where needed.
Continuous improvement — Lead Lean, TPM, and CI initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and optimize cost.
Team development — Coach, mentor, and evaluate production supervisors, technicians, and operators; build a high‑performance culture.
Equipment & tooling coordination — Work closely with maintenance and tooling teams to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
Safety & compliance — Ensure strict adherence to EHS standards, conduct risk assessments, and drive safety improvement programs.
Cross‑functional collaboration — Partner with engineering, quality, logistics, and planning teams to support new product launches, sample builds, and process validation.
Inventory & material flow — Ensure smooth material movement, proper inventory control, and alignment with production planning.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of production management experience in an automotive components manufacturing environment.
Strong technical knowledge of heat treatment, CNC machining, sintering, quenching, and metallurgical processes.
Experience working in a European or North American manufacturing culture preferred.
Proven ability to lead teams of 5+ direct reports and manage multi‑shift operations.
Strong understanding of Lean, TPM, and automotive quality systems.
Fluent English communication skills (written and spoken).
Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and resilience under pressure.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP/MES systems.
Work Location
Taicang area (Suzhou region), Jiangsu Province.
Work Schedule
Full‑time, Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime or weekend support may be required based on production needs.
