Key Responsibilities
• Source and procure a full range of cutting tools: inserts, tool holders, drills, end mills, reamers, CBN blanks, spare parts, etc.
• Identify, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
• Conduct market research to understand tooling trends, new technologies, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and supply agreements with vendors.
• Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to understand tooling requirements and technical specifications.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement in cost, quality, and delivery.
• Manage purchase orders, inventory levels, and lead times to ensure uninterrupted production.
• Resolve supply issues, delays, or quality concerns in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reports.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related fields.
• 3+ years of procurement experience in machining, metalworking, tooling, or precision manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of cutting tools and machining processes (turning, milling, drilling, reaming, grinding).
• Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and understand tooling specifications is a strong plus.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
