Process Technology & Licensing Manager
Location: Shanghai
We are searching for an experienced Process Technology & Licensing Manager, Petrochemicals to support technology evaluation, licensing strategy, and modernization initiatives across petrochemical production facilities. The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and adapting Chinese and international process technologies for investment and operational improvement projects.
The successful candidate will serve as a key interface between internal engineering teams, international licensors, Chinese project institutes, and technology centers. This position requires deep expertise in petrochemical technologies, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to evaluate technical and commercial feasibility of process solutions for large-scale industrial applications.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and analyze innovations in basic petrochemicals and specialty chemicals within the Chinese and global technology markets
Build and maintain a strong network with Chinese licensors, project institutes, engineering companies, and technology centers
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Chinese technology ecosystems, including licensors, project institutes
Conduct technological screening and comparative analysis of solutions from Chinese and international licensors, including: Lummus, UOP, Axens, Sinopec Tech, Wison, SEI, HQC, CPECC
Assess applicability of technologies for production facilities and modernization programs
Verify references and evaluate implementation risks based on operational experience in China and other international markets
Prepare comparative analytics, benchmarking studies for investment projects
Provide recommendations for adapting technical specifications
Identify and recommend mitigation measures for technology-related operational and project risks
Identify capability gaps (“red zones”) and propose actions to strengthen technology coverage
Maintain the relevance and quality of the knowledge base related to process technologies and Chinese best practices
Required Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industry
At least 5 years in roles such as Process Engineer, Technology Manager, or equivalent
Proven experience working with international and Chinese licensors and engineering institutes
Experience participating in production modernization and capital investment projects
Strong background in technology benchmarking, process evaluation, and investment justification development
Deep understanding of petrochemical processes
Master’s degree in: Chemical Engineering or Petrochemical Engineering

Willingness to travel internationally and to production sites in Russia and other regions.
