Position Title: Learning & Talent Development Director
Location: Shanghai

Reports To: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) / VP People
Position Overview:
The Learning & Talent Development Director is responsible for shaping and executing the organization’s talent development strategy to build a high-performing, future-ready workforce. This role leads the design, implementation, and evaluation of enterprise-wide learning programs, leadership development initiatives, and talent management processes. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, a passion for developing people, and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Learning & Development Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with business goals and organizational capabilities.
Lead the creation of scalable learning frameworks, including onboarding, functional training, leadership development, and continuous learning programs.
Introduce innovative learning methodologies (e.g., digital learning, blended learning, coaching, experiential programs).
Leadership & Talent Development
Design and manage leadership development programs for emerging, mid-level, and senior leaders.
Partner with executives to identify critical leadership capabilities and succession needs.
Implement talent assessment tools and processes to identify high-potential employees and accelerate their growth.
Talent Management & Organizational Development
Oversee the annual talent review, succession planning, and performance management cycles.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership on organizational capability gaps and workforce development priorities.
Lead change management initiatives to support organizational transformation and cultural evolution.
Program Management & Evaluation
Ensure learning programs are measurable, data-driven, and aligned with business outcomes.
Establish KPIs and reporting mechanisms to track program effectiveness and ROI.
Manage vendor relationships, budgets, and external partnerships to support learning initiatives.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Learning & Talent Development team.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business, or related field.
10+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Talent Management, or Organizational Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-level learning and talent programs.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles, leadership development frameworks, and talent assessment tools.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to influence senior leaders and drive strategic initiatives.
